Jo McDougall

Jo McDougall has published a memoir and seven books of poetry, the latest being In the Home of the Famous Dead: Collected Poems, (U of Ark Press, 2015) and The Undiscovered Room (Tavern Books, 2016). She received the Arkansas Porter Fund Lifetime Achievement Award in Poetry in 2019 and a Pushcart Prize in 2020; awards from the DeWitt Wallace/Readers Digest Foundation, the Academy of American Poets, and the Arkansas Arts Council; and numerous fellowships to the MacDowell Colony. McDougall's work has been adapted for film, stage, and song cycles. She lives in Arkansas, where she serves as poet laureate of Arkansas and offers a mentoring and editing service for poets and writers.
