Michelle Menting

Whitefield, Maine

Michelle Menting was born and raised in the Upper Great Lakes, the youngest of 12 siblings. She earned her BA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, MFA from Northern Michigan University, and PhD from the University of Nebraska. She is the author of two chapbooks: Residence Time (2016) and Myth of Solitude (2013). In 2015, she was the Hill House Artist-in-Residence at the Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology. She also received a Donald Justice Poetry Scholarship from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Menting is currently visiting assistant professor of creative writing at Franklin Pierce University and editor of the Northern New England Review.
