Nancy Miller Gomez

Santa Cruz, California

Nancy Miller Gomez (she/her) is the author of the poetry collection Inconsolable Objects (YesYes Books, 2024) and the chapbook Punishment (Rattle, 2018), which includes work about her experience teaching in prisons and jails. Her work has been published in Best American Poetry 2021 and Best New Poets 2021. She received a special mention in the 2023 Pushcart Prize Anthology. She earned a BA from the University of California, San Diego, a JD from the University of San Diego, and an MFA in poetry from Pacific University. She lives in Santa Cruz, California, where she cofounded Poetry in the Jails, an organization that provides writing workshops to incarcerated women and men.
