Lyn Lifshin
Poet Lyn Lifshin was born in Barre, Vermont, and earned a BA from Syracuse University and an MA from the University of Vermont. She was the author of many poetry books, including Katrina (2010), Lost Horses (2009), Barbaro: Beyond Brokenness (2009), Lost in the Fog (2008), and Persephone (Red Hen Press, 2008). Her poetry appeared in many literary magazines and journals, including The American Scholar, Christian Science Monitor, Ploughshares, and Rolling Stone, and also in former U.S. Poet Laureate Ted Kooser's newspaper column, “American Life in Poetry.” She divided her time between New York and Virginia until her death in late 2019.
